at the Mairie of Ste Croix du Verdon.
Minutes of the AGM of SNSCV 16/01/2010
With 20 voting members present and 35 represented by 'pouvoirs', a quorum was achieved and the assembly opened at 16:10hrs.
1 The Chairman's Report:
The chairman thanked the mayor of Ste Croix, Jean Marie FOUQUE, for honoring us with his presence.
With 151 members (including 25 new ones in 2009) the club has maintained it's stability in difficult times.
The Chairman thanked Bo Wetzel for creating and maintaining the club web site. He underlined the success of the different events which took place in 2009 (BBQ, picnic on the island of Costebelle etc) which should be done again in 2010.
There are now even more Finns in the club and diversity of other classes remained as before. The club participated with the C.N.Antibes, le Y.C.Cannes and the S.R. La Ciotatin in the creation of the "Challenge Y.L.Pinot". A total of 10 days of regattas (counting all classes) are planed for 2010. The Chairman hopes that many members will participate.
He thanked Mr. Bouchard for construction for us a pergola on our terrace.
The Chairman's General Report was approved unanimously.

2 The Treasurer's Report:
The treasurer distributed a summary of accounts (Bilan 2009) to all members present (copy enclosed with these minutes?).
A detailed discussion took place with the aim to further reduce expenditures on top of those reductions already achieved by getting a neufbox from SFR (to reduce telephone costs). The committee will follow up these ideas.
Budget for 2010:
The treasurer predict an income of 51 000 Euros against expenditures of 45 000 Euros. This should be possible with the reduction of expenditures and the proposed increase of fees together with end of the loan of 6000 Euros which has now been repaid in total.
The treasurer's Report was approved with 5 abstentions.
3 Fees and Tariffs:
The fees have increased on average by 1.1% since 2001. The committee proposes a fee increase of around 5% for 2010 and a charge of 50 Euros for the use of the moorings. A member proposed to charge an extra of 15 Euros to those member who have not paid their fees before 1st July each year.
The three propositions were approved unanimously.
4 Date of the AGM:
Following the difficulties for many members to come to the AGM in January the committee proposes to hold the AGM in November with the accounting year changed to end at 31 October.
This was approved unanimously.
5 Election of Committee Members: |

Jean Marc HERBECQ, Bruno THORIGNY, Max RENOUX and Jo PLATTS-MILLS have come to the end of their mandate.
The candidates for election or reelection were as follows:
Jacques CHADEL, Jo PLATTS-MILLS, Christian SCHNEBELEN and Bo WETZEL.
As their was exactly the same number of candidates as vacant posts the meeting decided to vote by show of hands and not use the secret vote.
All candidates were elected unanimously.
6 End of the AGM: The agenda was finished and the meeting ended at 18.45hrs.

"SNSCV web site and the Member's Forum"
It's coming up to the 1st Birthday of the new web site of the SNSCV.
I hope you enjoy the fact that we have an up-to-date place of information for our club.
The Member's Forum:
Unfortunately not many members have made use of the forum in the past. Maybe it needs a little explanation how it works.
Basically there are two areas of the forum: Those for all to read (including non-members) which have the headings "Généralités", "Régates" and "Petites Annonces".
And then there is one section which is only visible after login "Sociétaires SEULEMENT ! - Members ONLY !".
If you have not registered (see below) and then not logged in you will NOT see this section. This section was designed to publish SNSCV information which should be “for member's eyes only”.
The forum language should be French. However, the user interface (labels, prompts, forum help/FAQ etc.) can be selected to be English or French (top right-hand corner of the forum page).
Using the Forum:
- You will need to register (only paid-up members of the SNSCV can register) before you can post a topic or reply to a topic. You can register by clicking "Inscription".
- You will have to chose a User Name and Password.
- This will send a message to the forum administrator who will check that you're a member of the SNSCV and then activate you as user of the forum. There might be a slight delay in this process, depending on sailing conditions. :-)
- When registering, it would be nice if you would use your real name.
- After registration (and activation) you can then login by clicking on the "Login" button.
- You have an option of "Log me on automatically each visit". If you tick this field you don't have to login each time you visit the forum.

"Annual Accounts"
The committee envisages to change to a simplified and easier to understand accounting system for the SNSCV.
The options will be presented to the members at the AGM (9 January 2010 16 January 2010) with the report of the treasurer.
